Goodbye, Painting a Day, and thanks for now.

I'm currently feeling like I did not and do not enjoy doing the 5x7 paintings a day. I learned quickly that I enjoy painting for the meditative process and to have something to obsess over. I value spending time with my work. Attempting to quickly churn out a painting a day that I really had no attachment to was getting under my skin. Maybe one day I will attempt again, but for now I miss my portraits and larger scale works. Skill and style take time to develop and I have gained a greater appreciation for my own during this short stint.

I'm coming to realize just how much goes on in my head when I paint. Lots of distractions. And it makes me question my end product. But that's what this is all about...sticking with it, trying to focus, and accomplishing a

Beginning my first Painting a Day project. #001

This little baby is #001 of my first Painting a Day project. I'm holding my breath and keeping my fingers crossed that I stick with this!
